Esterillos

This beautiful beach area is located on the mid-pacific coast between the town of Jaco and Manuel Antonio National Park. Because of its beach length, Esterillos is divided in two areas, Esterillos Este (east) and Esterillos Oeste (west). Esterillos offers a variety of accommodation options with a beach adorned with silvery gray sands, estuaries and some mangrove swamps. This un-crowded destination is well known for its great surfing conditions especially at Esterillos Oeste with consistent beach breaks offering excellent wave forms. The area is approximately 25 minutes away from Jaco and a wide variety of optional tours and activities are available including visits to Manuel Antonio National Park.
Highlights
Surfing
The un-crowded Esterillos Oeste is a great surfing location where best conditions are at high tide on south swell. Breaking takes place over a sandbar on the inside and outside on a submerged reef. The area is generally recommended for experienced surfers although outside breaks reforms on the inside for beginner surfers.
