Turrubares is located approximately one hour west from San Jose and 1 hour north toward the mid-pacific coast of Costa Rica.  With a comfortable climate of 62-84 degrees year round, this area attracts various local and international visitors due to its impressive scenic beauty and protected tropical forests. Certain areas of Turrubares are great locations to find the beautiful Scarlet Macaw as well.

Turubari Park
Being one of the biggest natural theme parks in America, covering a total of 595 acres, visitors have the opportunity to visit their butterfly gardens plus an exclusive botanical collection of over 300 species of plants, flowers and ancient trees through almost 12 kilometers of well designed and safe forest trails. Facilities include also a world class aerial tram offering impressive views of the area, canopy tour adventure, a rappelling and climbing wall, swimming pool, restaurants and even a 1950´s sugar cane milling factory.
